Prayer Prompts – Week 4: Praying for our World

Monday: 12/1 - Adoration (Praise): Adoration centers our hearts on the character of God before we talk about our circumstances. It’s worship through words.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head above all."
—1 Chronicles 29:11 (ESV)

Proclaim God's sovereignty over our world, every heart, and every circumstance. Praise God for his faithfulness.

Tuesday: 12/2 - Confession: Confession is more than admitting sin; it’s agreeing with God that His way is better and asking Him to realign your heart.
"Ever since the time of your ancestors, you have turned away from My decrees and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," says the Lord Almighty.
—Malachi 3:7 (NIV)

Pray our world will turn back: choosing integrity over convenience, compassion over division, and worship over distraction. Let this return be visible—in our prayers, our world policies, our relationships, and our pursuit of righteousness.

Wednesday: 12/3 - Intercession: This is prayer that turns the spotlight off yourself and lifts up someone else —it’s love in prayer form.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."
—Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

Pray for the leaders, communities, and partner ministries in the Philippines, India, and Nigeria. Pray for God’s wisdom to guide decisions, His strength to sustain their work, His provision to meet every need, and His Spirit to transform lives for Christ.

Thursday: 12/4 –  Thanksgiving: It’s not just saying thank you for what God’s done—it’s recognizing His steady faithfulness along the way.
"All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You, they sing the praises of Your name."
—Psalm 66:4 (NIV)

Let your gratitude move you to action: to speak of His goodness, serve with joy, and honor His name in every sphere of influence in a watching world.

Friday: 12/5 - Surrender/Consecration: This prayer is the exhale—the moment you stop fighting for control and simply hand God the keys.
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
—Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Meditate on this verse, be still—not passive, but present—trusting that God is at work in every corner of the globe. Make space for His peace to reign and His purposes to unfold.

Saturday 12/6 – Supplication (Petition): But it’s deeper than a wish list; it’s an honest, faith-filled conversation with the One who can actually do something about it.
"You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth."
—Isaiah 62:6–7 (NIV)
Continue to pray for peace in conflict zones, healing for the sick, provision for the poor, and revival in weary hearts all around the world.

Sunday 12/7 - Sabbath Rest: Rest is required to stay spiritually alert and spiritually effective.
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His."
Hebrews 4:9–10 (NIV)

Rest, realign with His presence, regain spiritual clarity, and become more effective in your prayers. invite others to experience the peace that only God provides.
